1. This is an official U.S. Navy website for information about Rice University/Houston Consortium Navy ROTC Program. It is provided as a public service by the Commanding Officer of the Houston Consortium, NROTC. The purpose is to provide information and news about the Rice University/Houston Consortium NROTC to the general public.
2. All information on this site is public domain and may be distributed or copied unless otherwise specified. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested.
3. Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this website are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
4. For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
5. Except for authorized law enforcement investigation and to maintain required correspondence files, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used to simply determine how many users are accessing the site, which pages are the most popular, and, from time to time, from which top level domain users are coming. This data is scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration guidelines.
6. This website is in compliance with the Secretary of the Navy's policy on personal information on Department of the Navy websites. We do not post student, staff, or alumni information. Please contact the unit at (713) 348-4825 for all inquiries.
7. We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide such information to us.
8. The Commanding Officer has reviewed and approved the content of this website.

10. This website is NOT hosted on a Department of Defense (DOD) computer system. It is hosted by Rice University as a service to the Navy ROTC Unit.

(a) General telephone numbers and non-personalized e-mail addresses for commonly-requested resources, services, and contacts, without individuals' names, are acceptable.
(b) The names, telephone numbers, and personalized, official e-mail addresses of command/activity public affairs personnel and/or those designated by the commander as command spokespersons may be included in otherwise non-personalized directories, etc.
12. Biographies of commanding officers, executive officers or command master chief petty officers or Marine Corps master gunnery sergeants or sergeants major will not include date of birth, current residential location, nor any information about family members.
