PRACTICE ROOMS
The
Shepherd School's forty-seven practice rooms feature ten-foot ceilings.
Variable intensity fluorescent lighting with remote ballasts and
reduced-noise air conditioning are featured in these rooms just
as in the teaching studios.
In addition, rooms feature both carpeted and wood parquet floors,
and most rooms contain a piano and a mirror. Again, sound isolation
between rooms was a primary concern.
To meet the demand for available practice spaces, the Shepherd School of Music has completed work on two additional practice rooms in the upstairs practice wings in Alice Pratt Brown Hall, increasing the number of practice rooms to forty-seven. The Shepherd School's forty-seven practice rooms feature ten-foot ceilings with variable intensity fluorescent lighting with remote ballasts and reduced-noise air conditioning, just as in the teaching studios.
