The need for unity and cooperation among Muslims is felt more strongly now than ever before. We must teach by example, not empty words and promises. This requires an organization that lives and operates in conformity with the Islamic way of life, and strives hard toward making Islam better understood by all. The Muslim Students' Association of Rice University is working diligently to fulfill this need, and it welcomes all Muslims into its fold of brotherhood.
The Muslim Students' Association of Rice University, hereinafter referred to as the MSA, is a non-profit Islamic religious and social organization. The purpose of the Rice MSA is to serve the best interests of Islam and Muslims in the community by:
Striving to achieve unity and solidarity among all Muslims at Rice University
Facilitating the practice of Islam and Islamic education on the Rice University Campus in order to generate a better understanding of the religion
In order to ensure that such goals are met by the leadership and membership of the MSA, we, the undersigned, have adopted these Bylaws as a guide for future leadership in the hopes that the Rice MSA will continue to represent the Muslim voice on campus.
