Keyboards and IMEs

If you're using a computer outside of the Language Resource Center and having trouble either displaying or typing in a foreign language then the following instructions will be helpful.

Useful reference if you want to know how to type a 'ä' and other foreign language characters.

Before you can type in a foreign language you'll need to setup your keyboard.

What is an IME?

IME stands for Input Method Editor. It is used for typing in languages that cannot be represented with Roman letters. (eg. Chinese).
