Note on Hindi IME

On the Hindi keyboard, full independent vowels (that you would start a word with) are located in the SHIFT keyboard. Pressing SHIFT and then the vowel key will type a full vowel.

If you type the vowel without shift, one of two things will happen:

  • In Firefox, the dependent vowel character will show up with a little circle in front of it;
  • in IE, nothing will appear.

This is due to the fact that in Hindi, you will ALWAYS have a consonant before a dependent vowel. If you type a consonant and then the non-shifted vowel key, it will appear (like it is supposed to).
