The mechanism for fixed interval timing is very similar to that of feedback timing. Activation is kept alive in a loop, however, instead of waiting for upward activation to inhibit the loop and facilitate further activation, a clock timing mechanism sends out activation after a fixed period of time. This activation allows for the threshold of the second element to be satisfied and also prevents the activation from being kept alive in the loop. |
