Dr. Brian Gibson received a B.A. in Kinesiology, M.A. in Exercise Physiology, and Ph.D in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been awarded the Arthur Caswell-Ellis Fellowship in Education and the Texas Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Texas at Austin. Presently, he teaches classes such as Physiology of Exercise (with lab), Weightlifting, and Kinesiology. A co-author of articles in FASEB, J. Gerontology, and Alchoholism Clinical and Experimental Research, Dr. Gibson's current research interests include: skeletal muscle hypertrophy, skeletal muscle atrophy with aging, muscle plasticity, calcium regulation, interaction of ethanol and cardiac function, and ischemia/reperfusion injury.
