Congratulations on being admitted to Rice University! A world-class research institute set in the heart of the fourth-largest city in the nation, Rice fosters close personal interactions between faculty, staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of excellence across many diverse fields of study. The lush green campus is conveniently located to take advantage of the amenities of Houston - which include one of the largest populations of people of Indian origin in the United States.

ISAR is a close-knit community of Indian graduate students at Rice. Every year we look forward to welcoming new students (like you!) to our campus, who bring with them loads of fresh flavor and enthusiasm. Throughout the time you spend at Rice, ISAR exists to be a source of support, information, and most importantly, fun! We are looking forward to seeing you at our social events this year! For many of you, this might be your first trip outside of India. To help you prepare for your upcoming transition, we have put together a Starter Pack, consisting of advice and tips on booking flights, packing, things to bring with you, etc.

In addition to this we will be offering Airport Pickups for all incoming Indian graduate students. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please fill out this online form and a volunteer from our group will pick you up at the Houston airport and drive you to your apartment or Rice graduate housing.
