SPECIAL CAMPAIGNS

Rice's fund-rasing goals have risen sucessfully for each of the last three years. Building campaigns have contributed greatly to these annual increases. By the end of FY97, both the Computational Engineering and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy campaigns reached their combined goal of $85 million. The Nanoscale Science and Technology campaign had raised $26.5 million of its $32.3 million goal.

50th Reunion--Five-Year Scholarship Campaign ($ thousands)

The Class of 1947 raised a total of $473,891 for its Golden Anniversary Scholarship Fund during the 5 years between its 45th and 50th class reunions.

The Rice University Fund Council is the organization of individuals that support the University in achieving its fund-raising objectives by providing volunteer effort and by advising and supporting the University's Office of Development.
