The Office of Institutional Research serves Rice University by providing information (both quantitative and qualitative) on its students, faculty, staff, and programs in order to enhance decision-making, problem-solving, strategic planning, policy development and institutional self-assessment. We provide our services to the principal administrative officers of the University, namely, those of the President, the Provost, and the Vice Presidents. We also liaise with other University constituents (such as deans, directors, department chairs, councils, and student government bodies) and with external agencies, as needed, to assist them with their information, planning, and assessment needs.
