Information for Group Builds

Going on a habitat for humanity build is a great team-building opportunity, where you, as a group, will benefit from working on a project together and at the same time helping out a family in need, all while having a great time! If you are a leader of or a member of a group on campus (i.e. a club, a college, etc.) and would like to have a group build, just follow the steps below:

How to sign up:

Please email us at habitat@rice.edu with your name, your group, the date you would like to work and whether you will be able to drive others (you have a car).

When and Where:

Unless the site leader says otherwise, we will always meet at 7 AM at the Rice Sallyport (near the north colleges). A small bagel breakfast will be provided and we should leave by 7:15 AM. We will arrive back on campus sometime between 2 & 3

What to Bring:

Working clothes and CLOSED TOED shoes- there is a high chance these clothes will get dirty!
Light jacket - mornings are cold sometimes.
NO need for Lunch - The site leader will buy lunch.
Water bottles.
Waiver (Click for Waiver) - If your members do not bring a filled out and signed waiver, they will need to know your Health Insurance Carrier & Policy Number for the waiver you must fill out and sign in the morning (It helps us expedite the process and is very helpful if your group has the waivers filled out before the morning of the build
