Annual Women In Leadership Conference

Conference Theme:

Heroes: Finding a Mentor and Reaching Back

Successful leaders know that people are their greatest opportunities.  Many leaders recognize having a mentor as a crucial element in their personal growth and development.  In fact, studies suggest three mentors: one where you are, one where you want to be, and one completely outside of your frame of reference.  Many successful leaders also remark on how being a mentor others better prepares them to accept the wisdom of others.  Particularly in this tough market, mentoring and networking are vital tools for success.  This year’s conference will focus on developing networks of practice, finding a mentor, and preparing to be mentored.

In addition, we will delve into topics that affect women in business that are specific to industry.  In the afternoon, we will engage in panel discussions that challenge each of us to examine our biases and build our skill sets.

Finally, we will close the day with a networking happy hour.  This informal setting will provide an opportunity to practice the skills we’ve discussed throughout the day.  Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with corporate alliance partners.  Conference registrants will be provided with an option of signing up to be partnered with an industry mentor.  We will introduce mentoring teams during the happy hour as well.
