(updated 9/30/98)

On this page you may find a number of music files written for dictation and sight-singing purposes.

Check back to this page for a collection of MIDI files suitable for use with Functional Hearing. The instructor may make use of this music in any manner deemed appropriate, although it is intended as supplemental material for ear-training courses using Functional Hearing. All copyrights remain the property of the author, Arthur Gottschalk (ASCAP).

NOTE: These files require a MIDI Player. Click here and you will be taken to a page that will allow you to download MuZak, an efficient little MIDI player that does all kinds of extras and makes for a suitable helper application in your browser (This links to the Mac version only - go to http://www.hitsquad.com/smm for the PC version and lots of other music shareware, for Mac and PC) .

If you experience problems in your download attempts, try using Fetch @ ftp.ruf.rice.edu/net/leash/gottsch/public/functional, use your email address in the standard username and password configuration, and locate and download the appropriate MIDI files.
