Shell Center for Sustainability Funds Balloon Launches This Summer

First Launch Successful, July 8 at 3:21 pm

Launches Continue Daily through mid-August between 1 and 2 pm in the main Quad
As part of the Rice University Tropospheric Ozone Pollution Project, Shell has funded the acquisition of 40 ozonesondes and balloons to make measurements of ozone pollution profiles over Houston. The project will launch balloons from early July to mid August. Data will be shared with the larger scientific community of part of NASA's INTEX project.
