Julie Fette studied at the Institute of French Studies at New York University and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Her teaching focuses on contemporary French society and culture. Her main research interests are xenophobia and immigration, women and work, and the role of public apology in coming to terms with the past. She is writing a book about xenophobia in the medical and legal professions in twentieth-century France, tentatively titled "Professional Prejudice."
