The George R. Brown Forensic Society is Rice University’s competitive intercollegiate speech and debate team. Founded in 1984, the society replaced the original Rice Forensic Society, which existed from 1954 to 1964. The team represents Rice by competing in speech and debate tournaments throughout the United States. The George R. Brown Forensics Society has a strong tradition of success. The society has brought home numerous national championships. Most recent was Priscilla Parrett’s 2007 national championship in Persuasive Speaking.
2012 Nationals Update:
The GRBFS took 3rd in the Nation in NFA-LD debate and 4th in the nation in "President's 1" division at NFA!
