2005-2006 Faculty Elections

Promotion & Tenure Committee Elections

The Promotion and Tenure Committee (P&T) will consist of up to 8 members, chosen as follows: The School of Natural Sciences, the School of Humanities, the School of Social Sciences, the School of Engineering, and the School of Management will each elect one representative to P&T. The School of Music and the School of Architecture will together vote to elect one representative to P&T. Any full professor may be nominated for the position on the basis of a petition with at least ten signatures. The Provost may appoint up to two additional full professors to a one-year term on the Promotion and Tenure Committee.

P&T Election Schedule:

• 3/16 Nominating Petitions available to Faculty Members (petitions available in Dean's Office, Faculty Council's Office and through Faculty Council web site).

  Nominating Form for printing
• 3/22 Nomination forms due in the Office of Faculty Council by NOON (no late nominations will be accepted).
• 3/24 P&T Election ballots sent to Faculty.
• 3/30 P&T Elections close. All ballot forms due in the Office of Faculty Council by 5:00 PM (no late ballots will be accepted).
• 4/1 Announcement of P&T Committee members.

Positions and terms available for election for include:

•  School of Management Representative - Term 2005 - 2007

•  School of Social Sciences Representative - Term 2005 - 2008

•  School of Architecture and School of Music Representative - Term 2005 - 2008

P&T Transition and Staggering Chart:

Faculty Council has decided to assure continuity of procedures by continuing the three unexpired elected P&T positions. The new P&T representatives from Engineering, Humanities, and Natural Science will be elected in 2006, 2006, & 2007 respectively.
