Seventh Annual Rice Environmental Conference

How Many is Too Many? Human Population and the Sustainability of Our Planet

        This year the Rice Environmental Club will host the Seventh Annual Rice Environmental Conference. This conference will focus on information presentation and idea sharing concerning the issues of over population and the state of our planet. The conference will be held on Saturday, February 6th, and will include a full day of speakers, pan els, and other presentations. All information presented will address the issues of how to understand population as an environmental issue. Topics such as the economy of developing nations, agricultural development, religion, and sociology will be discus sed. The conference is free and open to the general public. Walk ins are VERY WELCOME! However, please pre-order for lunch through the registration form. A small vegetarian lunch will be provided for $5.

       Also be sure to come to the TG on Friday featuring live music and free beer!


Conference History
        Although the form and name havechanged somewhat over the past six years, the conference remains entirelyorganized by Rice Students.  ; Created by Dave Greene in 1992, the Conference features presentations by Rice students, community activists and environmental professionals.  We are very grateful for all the support we have received over the years to make the Conference bigger and better each year.
