
The
Greene Prize Paper Contest
Endowed by the family of alumnus David Greene, the Greene
Prize was created to encourage original environmental work by
undergraduate students at Rice.
We encourage any and every
student to submit their works... Possible submissions for the
contest include:
Environmental
science/ independent research
Environmental
policy
Environmental
economics
Environmental
fiction/literature/journalism
Other
environmental topics
SUBMISSION
DEADLINE: TBA
Turn in submissions (4 copies)
to the Center for the Study of Environment and Society (mailbox
located in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Office, between
Anderson Biology Lab and the Geology Lab Building).
Submissions
should be no more than 20 pages in length. Papers need only be
environmental in nature. You are welcome to submit papers you
have developed independently or for classes.
A total of $1000
will be awarded
at an Earth Day
event at the end of April. Winners may be asked to give a brief
2-5 minute talk on their paper when the awards are
presented.
