Students:
writing papers and reports
re-doing or re-organizing my notes, with easy edits and corrections, no having
to start over if I make a mistake
typing up study/ review sheets, again with easy edits - and if I put my notes
into a word processor, then I can cut & paste parts of my notes into the
review sheet - plus I could use colors or different fonts, bolding, etc. for
emphasis
creating flyers to announce club meetings and/or athletic events
using the highlighter function, I can mark items in my notes or places in my
paper where I know I need some work (I think there's also some function on MS
Word that allows you to keep track of edits - this would be a useful feature
to maintain a dialogue with my teacher as I re-write my papers)
emailing any of the above to others as an attachment ... I won't have to wait
until the next morning/day/class period when I see them in person
make handouts for the class to accompany an oral presentation
post their work on a class website
make tables of information for class experiments
create small banners or flyers to decorate the classroom
create certificates as a reward or prize for a child's accomplishment.
merge different versions of a student's paper drafts together to show one person's
editing and revision process in comparison to the final work.
