The Starting Crowd
The Starting Crowd
The crowd waits at the starting line for the Westpark Tollway Ride to begin. There were thousands of bikers there.
Bikers Everywhere
Bikers Everywhere
I took this photo by stopping on the side of the road and shooting back toward the crowd of bikers participating in the ride.
One Loop Done
One Loop Done
Having completed one loop of the Westpark Tollway Ride (about 12 miles), I stopped and carbed up with PowerBars and Gatorade while I watched the other bikers go by.
Bikers Still Joining the Ride
Bikers Still Joining the Ride
Even and hour after the Westpark Tollway Ride started, bikers were still corrsing the street to join the ride (you can see then in the distance on the right). The parking lot was packed.
Rest Stop at End
Rest Stop at End
I skipped the rest stop on the first loop but stopped on the second round. We could see the Southwest Freeway from the stop.
Big Overpass
Big Overpass
Looking back from the rest stop at the turnaround you can see the long overpass that was right at the end of the loop going the other way. Bikers are starting up the incline.
Oak Tree at Start Line
Oak Tree at Start Line
There were a few oak trees across from the starting line for the Ride.
Still Going Strong
Still Going Strong
Two and a half hours after the ride started bikers were still crossing the street from the parking lot to start the ride.
Finished!
Finished!
I did 26 miles and asked a fellow biker to take this shot of me in the parking lot after the ride.
Still Finished!
Still Finished!
