Instructor: Iterative methods for linear systems of equations including Krylov subspace mehtods; gradient method for unconstrained optimizaiton; Newton and Newton-like methods for nonlinear system of equations, unconstrained optimization and nonlinear least squares problems; techniques for improving the global convergence of these algorithms. Theoretical and practical considerations for these algoritms will be discussed. |
