We are located on the first floor of the Student Center in the heart of the Rice University campus. You can view a map of the Rice campus; the Student Center building is number 37 on the map.

Coffeehouse takes Fair Trade to the Serveries!

Through the efforts of student advocacy and a partnership with local roaster Katz Coffee, the Rice Coffeehouse is pleased to say Rice is now a Fair Trade Campus! Read more about the decision by Housing and Dining.

No more unsustainable, overheated sludge from the serveries for you. From here out its all about the karmalicious beans, baby.

Coffeehouse cups are now recyclable

We're all about sustainability!

Guess what - all our cups are recyclable!

You can (and should) recycle both the hot paper cups and the cold plastic cups (type 1 plastic, totally recyclable). The Student Center offers convenient bins for paper, plastic, glass, etc. so it's easy; they're located in the Grand Hall lobby.

Bottom line - we're all about sustainability!

"Rice Coffeehouse: A student-run success"

Rice Coffeehouse was recently featured in On-Campus Hospitality Magazine. Excerpt:

"The operation is run like a true business. Six student managers are responsible for the different areas of the business... 'We have a full-time operations assistant and currently 31 student employees,' Mara Courtney, General Manager, said... The Coffeehouse averages between 400 and 500 customers per day, including students, graduate students, faculty, staff and members of the local Houston community."
