Gambit: The Rice Chess Society will be hosting its second annual Rice Chess Tournament, which is open to all Rice undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and staff.

The tournament will be held Sunday, November 12th, beginning at 9:00 am and lasting until a winner has been determined, which will probably be around 5:00 pm. The format of the tournament will be depend on the number of participants, but will assure everyone of playing at least five games.

The winner of this tournament, as well as the first and second runners-up will receive cash prizes. First place will receive $100, second will receive $50, and third $25.

The registration fee for the tournament is $10 and includes lunch, which will most likely consist of Pizza, snacks, and soft drinks.

The deadline for signing up to participate is November 5th. If you are interested in participating, send an e-mail to chess@rice.edu.
