In order to increase improve the laboratory curriculum for chemistry majors, the Department of Chemistry at Rice University is in the process of developing a modular laboratory program that will offer students a greater variety and flexibility in the choice of advanced laboratory experiences. The goal is to design and implement integrated experiments which combine traditional elements of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry into a project-oriented unit. A more detailed description of this project is found at Proposal to the Dreyfus Foundation. We are very grateful to the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Inc. for their generous support of this project. The Dreyfus Foundation maintains a www site which may be found at http://www.dreyfus.org.

More information will be added to this website as laboratory modules are developed.
