Scholarships and Awards
For more information on the scholarships listed below or to research other availlable scholarships visit http://fellowships.rice.edu or contact Mauro De Lorenzo, the
Director of Scholarships and Fellowships. Mr. Lorenzo is available to give you frank and detailed advice on the criteria for these awards, and to help you prepare the strongest possible applications. You can reach Mr. Lorenzo at extension 3985 or e-mail him at mdl@rice.edu.
A note on GPA: A student with a GPA of 3.7 and above is competitive for all awards. A GPA of 3.5 that is complemented by outstanding extracurricular achievements is also sufficient. For Watson, Fulbright, and probably Leifur Eiriksson students above 3.0 should consider themselves eligible. No student should be discouraged from applying because they don't have a near-perfect GPA.
