Rice Alumni
Beginning with the first Rice Class of 1916, our department
has been producing graduates who rise to top positions in academia
and industry. Rice chemical engineering graduates have become
CEO's
and upper-level managers of major companies, a cabinet member,
and members of the National Academy of Engineering. Two Chairs
of the
Rice University Board have been Rice Chemical Engineering alums
(Dell Butcher, Charles Duncan).
It comes as no surprise that more Chemical Engineering
graduates are honored on the Engineering School's Wall of Fame
than
alumni from any other department. In fact, twelve of the
twenty-six Rice alumni who are members of the National Academy
of
Engineering are graduates of our department.
