Summer Research Program for Undergraduates
The BP-Amoco Summer Research program, established with a $75,000 gift from the Amoco Foundation, targets exceptional engineering students who have completed their first year of study at Rice. Historically, such students have had a difficult time finding challenging summer assignments.
The gift provides stipend and materials support for five students during the summer. Students are selected on a purely competitive basis and are paired for ten weeks with Rice engineering faculty on cutting-edge research projects.
