High Energy Physics

The Bonner Laboratory at Rice conducts research in experimental particle physics at the world's largest accelerator facilities: CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland, and Fermilab, outside Chicago. In the course of this research we undertake numerous projects at Rice and undergraduates participate in these projects. The nature of experimental particle physics is such that there are a wide variety of possible projects. For example, the Century Scholar can be involved in writing software, building and/or testing electronics, or the analysis of data. In all cases the student can get valuable experience in experimental particle (High Energy) Physics.
