A molecular phylogeny for the Formicidae

 

Matt Johnston (University of Arizona) and I have put together a preliminary molecular phylogeny for the Formicidae. The ant phylogeny shown below is based on approximately 1100 base pairs from the 18S and 28S ribosomal RNA coding genes. Numbers adjacent to a node refer to the bootstrap support for that node (percentage of 100 bootstrap replicates).
