  upcoming events
  • Rice BMES is planning to tour Introgen Therapeutics on Friday, February 15th from 2:30-3:30 pm.  Take advantage of this great opportunity to visit one of Houston’s successful biotech companies and learn more about opportunities for bioengineers in industry! To participate in the Introgen company tour, please send an email to bmes@rice.edu with your name and year (Fr, So, Jr, Sr) by midnight, Friday, February 8th.  Space is limited!

  • At 6 PM on Tuesday, February 19th in the Shell Auditorium in McNair Hall Jeff Sandefer will be speaking about his experience as an entrepreneur and a $10,000 scholarship opportunity available to anyone continuing their education next year.  The event will be followed by hors doeuvres in Anderson Family Commons. Anyone interested in attending please RSVP to Cameron Dyer at dyer@rice.edu.
  • Have you done a BIOE-related internship? Please go HERE to tell us about your experience. Your contribution will be valuable to fellow BIOEs.

  • Want to take apart and repair medical equipment to send to developing countries? Then come on one of our volunteer trips to the Medical Benevolence Foundation! MBF is a non-profit organization that repairs unused medical equipment, and in conjunction with medical supplies, ships them to hospitals around the world. We generally go on Saturday mornings; contact vmwei@rice.edu if you are interested.
