Subject: Prod Meeting Minutes 2/13/97
Just so everyone doesn't forget what we talked about, here are the notes
that I took at yesterday's meeting. Please forward to anyone who was not
there or whom I have left off the list (and if I've left someone off,
PLEASE let me know. I know this is long, but please read the whole damn
thing, particularly the parts relevant to your job. Thanks!
RICE THRESHER: Kasia will contact Vivek and someone else regarding
1) general BakerShake review stuff and 2) profile on Chepe. Profile is
to run the week before Spring Break.
$1000 DONORS: Kindra and Mike will arrange to buy a nice edition of the
Bard's Complete Works. Riverside nixed as it is a textbook; Cambridge
recommended.
TICKETS: Bards price for this year upped to $30 a pair, which will include
front-row seating and a BakerShake t-shirt. Student and General prices
remain the same. All reservation questions and requests should be
forwarded to the box office manager, Ali Raja. Ali needs to contact Jenn
to discuss theatre festival issues.
BARDS PUBLICITY: Sasha will provide Karin a list of last year's Bards.
Karin will identify the Bards' addresses and pass them on to Sasha and
Kasia to contact them.
FLOWERS FOR OPENING NIGHT: Sasha will arrange for donations.
FACULTY/STAFF FLYTERS: Jenn has lists of department fac/staff numbers.
Sasha and Jay wil develop a flyer (contact Chepe or Karin if you have
question on how it should be done).
POSTER DESIGN: Chepe will contact Sonni Aun to determine status of design.
We should have the design in hand by our next meeting.
T-SHIRTS: Sasha has identified two companies who can do the printing.
Upon receipt of poster design, she will present a bid to the companies.
Other options for shirt include: donor's list and/or cast and crew list
on back, coloured shirt, 2-colour design. The production staff agreed
that we should have no less than 80 and no more than 100 shirts printed.
CONCESSIONS: Kasia suggested that drinks -- in the form of iced tea and
coffee -- be arranged through CK. Kasia and Sasha are also investigating
the possibility of food donations from Sam's. It was also suggested that
we direct audience members to the soda machines if that's what they want;
in which case someone needs to notify the supplier to make sure that the
machines are frequently replenished. Finally, we will cover costs of
concessions by putting out a "Suggested Donations 50 Cents" jar.
PLATFORMS: The cast and crew and anyone they can drag along will meet
on Sunday at 2pm to haul out platforms. At the same time, we need to
assess our lumber needs and figure out if we need new support stands.
Kasia has the supply of burgers on hand; Jenn and Paul have volunteered
to help cook. Note also that the current storage space appears to be
the only possible space that we have.
TOOLS: Per the message Greg sent to BS-L, it was decided that we should
buy the things. Total expense will come to $280. Issues regarding the
caretaking of Baker tools will be handled by Kindra.
SET: Our set designer, Jason Millhouse, has indicated that a design will
be ready by Saturday. Note that he will not be available during spring
break construction. Anyone who is available during that time needs to
be there.
LIGHTS: Karen Park has volunteered to work on light design. Kindra and
Karin will be testing lights on Sunday to determine which ones work and
what money will need to be spent on repairs.
PROPS: Chepe is investigating the acquisition of a sword and a handbell.
Gwen and (the other props person whose name I've forgotten) need to meet
with Chepe to determine if any changes need to be made to the original
props list.
COSTUMES: Kindra and Susan will be pricing shirts for the men's costumes.
Susan needs to come by and measure the actors and talk to them about their
costume needs. Susan is also investigating the sewing machine that we
have acquired -- where is it? Finally, we need a call for anyone and
everyone interested in doing costume crew. Karin will post a message to
BS-L.
EXTRAS: One fairly definite response so far. ASK YOUR FRIENDS. We need
one more man (assuming our first guy doesn't drop out) and two more women.
NEXT MEETING: We will meet again on Wednesday, 19 February, at 5:30
in the Baker Library. Please forward any agenda items to Kasia.
Thanks all!
