First rehearsal back from break went remarkably well. Only two pages of line notes. :-)

Seriously, it was a good evening. First look for many of us at the costumes, which are lovely. Also got to work with props tonight, including the Big Honking Sword of Justice (courtesy of Amy Hemphill), which we are going to hang off the Baker wall to avoid the awkwardness of having it laid on the floor. Another great bit of props was Autolycus' pedlar's rack -- Gwen has absolutely covered it with the neatest items, and it looks great.

Anyway, most everyone remembered their lines, and there were some speeches and scenes that came off especially well. The physical comedy is getting cleaner. (As in more precise. Some of it -- Autolycus! ;-) -- could stand to be a little more wicked.) Tonight also marked the first appearance of Arthur Few as the Bear. What was really fascinating was noticing that several of the principals came back from break with more stuff for their characters. Peter's Leontes was particularly remarkable in that regard. "Time" needs to learn his lines though. Dammit. :-)

A few problems tech-wise. A set of escape stairs is proving to be a bit of trouble and may be more large and noisy than is convenient. Actors a bit unused to handling the props and walking on the set. Music for the dance remains forthcoming. Nothing, however, that can't be solved in a couple of days. We hope.

A few fits of "corpsing", particularly in the Scene that Never Ends. A bit of delay and confusion during the Autolycus/Florizel clothing switch resulted in Autolycus wearing only shirt, vest, and boxer shorts, which provoked much hilarity. The Autolycus/Shepherd/Clown scene at the end of IV,4 caused everyone to drop what they were doing and watch -- to go by their reactions, this should go over nicely with our audiences.

Energy seemed a little low during the second half, especially towards the end, but that was hardly surprising given how late it ended up running.
