The Rev. Mark T. Crawford is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is married to Jean Elisabeth "Lis" Crawford, a British citizen from Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They have three children, Daniel, Johnny and Jessica. After Fr. Mark graduated from SMU in Dallas, he studied at Oxford University where he received his M.A. degree in theology. He also earned his D.Min degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Fr. Mark has been an ordained priest for 25 years serving parishes in Houston, Georgetown, Taylor, Waco and Alvin. He and Lis also served as missionaries in Paraguay for three years. He has been involved in campus ministry at Southwestern University, Georgetown and Texas A&M, College Station before becoming the Director of Campus Ministry for Episcopal Students at Rice and the Texas Medical Center and an associate rector at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston. He is a member of the Commission on Ministry in the Diocese of Texas and the General Board of Examining Chaplains for the Episcopal Church. He also teaches in the FIND program for Spiritual Directors as well as the IONA Center for the Diocese of Texas. Fr. Mark and his family live in Friendswood, a small community south of Houston. He enjoys playing tennis, gardening and traveling. His favorite expression is, "And then I found five dollars!" He'll also be more than eager to share the latest joke he has heard.
