The Way Station is a Palmer Church-sponsored ministry to anyone who needs a free, warm meal. Canterbury has committed to helping prepare and serve breakfast with a few other volunteers from Palmer every Wednesday morning. We get to the kitchen at 7am (walk in the gates on the west side (Main St. side) of Palmer, go through the courtyard, and the 2nd door on the left in the wall in front of you will have a window and be the kitchen) and help prepare casseroles, a bread item, milk and cereal, grits, and any other special food for the morning. Serving begins at 8am and lasts through 9:30am. Volunteers leave for class as needed, and EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to come at least once to experience this ministry. Contact Fr. Mark or Caroline for more info. Sign up sheets are posted every Sunday during service. |

Every Friday Fr. Mark leads an intriguing Bible study at the Hanzen upstairs (on the room to the left as you walk in from the outside balcony). This semester we're starting to journey through Romans. People pick up lunch at the servery and bring it upstairs for the study. We begin at about 12:15. The atmosphere is very open and interactive with input from everyone, rather than a lecture. EVERYONE is welcome to join in. E-mail Fr. Mark for more information. |

Compline is a short (10 min.) evening prayer led by students and includes a Psalm, intercessory prayers and thanksgivings, prayers for the week, and is quite simply a great God-boost mid-week, when all your problem sets are due soon. It's VERY laid back, with people coming and going as they need to and is a great time to support one another and spend quality time with our church family and visitors. Afterwards, we'll wander over to the RMC (student center) to get coffee or smoothies or anything else anyone wants to do. It's a chance to take a break and meet some great new friends. For more info, contact Allison. |

Our service is unique to most religious groups on campus because we have a service directed at meeting the needs of the student community. The service is organized and arranged by the students and includes both contemporary music and traditional hymns, piano and guitars, and other variations that make it a very welcoming and accepting atmosphere to people of various denominations. Worship is led by Fr. Mark and, consistent with the Episcopal tradition, Communion is celebrated every Sunday. Following the service, a home cooked meal is served to the students by Palmer families who sponsor the group. It's really delicious! More information is found on the Worship Page. |
