The Market at Djenné
In the huge market square in front of the mosque, they set up little
lean-to's made of wood and thatch with their goods on display such
as different fruits, plastic containers, calabash ladles, clothes,
meat, and pots. |

Approaching Djenné
After two days in Bamako we left for the town of Jenne 400 miles to
the northeast where we would be doing the work. It took us over twleve
hours. |
