A Message from our Chapter

Welcome to the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Rice University website! We are in the process of updating our site for the new 2010 Fall Semester, but feel free to look around to see what our Chapter is about.

Our Chapter is committed to making you, our members, as prepared as possible for life after graduation. How do we do this? Professional Development activities like resume building and mock interviews; Community Outreach through programs for local schools such as Project Pumpkin and Race for an Engineering Career Day; Leadership Development by putting you in charge of these events - All of this combines to make you look amazing at the SHPE National Events such as the National Conference, the Regional Leadership Development Conference, and much more.

Our mission is the same as the National organization: to enhance and achieve the potential of Hispanics in science, technology, engineering, and math. We look forward to working with you and together making SHPE Rice THE SOURCE for unconventional Hispanic wisdom and talent.

Best,

Lizbeth Gonzalez (President)
Rodolfo Velasquez Lim (Vice President)
