Our Academic Community
 Strong
relationships amongst faculty, students and staff form the cornerstone
of our department. The small size of our classes creates a unique environment
which promotes the exchange of ideas beyond the classroom, while providing
our students with the necessary training to face the challenges
of the future.
Close
research collaborations become rewarding friendships. Using the fundamental
principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and engineering,
our ten faculty members and more than sixty graduate
students conduct research in the areas of energy & environmental engineering,
materials & complex
fluids and biomolecular engineering. Visiting scholars and postdoctoral
associates share our enthusiasm and enrich our research visions.
Our faculty are also dedicated teachers and mentors. They are committed
to maintaining outstanding undergraduate and graduate educational programs
so that our
students will
be prepared to assume leadership roles in industry, academia,
law, business, medicine and government.
Christine, Hazel and Pam are essential members of our
academic family. With their attention to detail, dedication and hard
work, they
provide
invaluable
support
in all aspects of our everyday departmental life.
