Spirituality

Many students include a quest to become more spiritually rich during their time at Rice. Spirituality doesn't have to be affiliated with any religion, though most religions do encourage individual spiritual growth. A well-defined worldview or belief system give a sense of meaning and purpose of existence.

In your college years it is common to search for higher meaning, have your beliefs challenged by new situations and experiences, learn more about other spiritual and religious beliefs and have a craving for connectedness with others and a higher power or larger reality.

Spirituality can be enhanced by participation in an organized religion, spending time in nature or working on environmental issues, helping others, and engaging in personal spiritual practices such as prayer or meditation.
