The Nutritionist is available by appointment on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Our Nutritionist provides dietary education for all Rice Students focusing on healthy eating for normal development, as well as specific physical conditions and athletic training.
- Sessions are offered on a one-on-one basis, by appointment only.
- Your first appointment will be a one-hour assessment, followed by
half-hour followups.
The first three appointments are free for students. - A diet analysis will identify nutritional problems relating to conditions such as obesity, anemia, hypertension, and diabetes.
- Students will learn how to plan their meals and control portion sizes so that an optimum level of nutrition and energy can be obtained.
- Sessions can provide counseling and referral for clients identified by a nurse, physician, or psychologist as needing individual nutritional counseling for a specific health condition.
- Athletes and fitness enthusiasts are encouraged to discuss concerns that affect their performance such as supplements, ergogenic aids and carbohydrate loading.
- Students are encouraged to check out material and books from the Wellness Center for further reading.
- Dine Health 4.0 Software is available within the Wellness Center for accessing a food database, exercise and recipe analysis, and meal planning.

'Owl Weigh'
Interested in Weight Management?
Check out the all new 'Owl Weigh' Weight Management
program running every semester at the Wellness Center.
The program runs for 8 weeks and combines nutrition education in a group setting, with peer support, structured exercise sessions as well as weekly food journalling.
The Owl Weigh is open to those students who are looking to loose 20lbs or more and all students must make an appointment with their physician and the Nutritionist, prior to taking part in the program.
