Benefits to Sponsorship

Publicity
The Public Affairs Office at Rice University will assist the RSAE in providing maximum exposure to its sponsors, including Local and national TV and print media. Rice University publications (Thresher, Rice News and Sallyport) will provide exposure to students, alumni and University donors. Media coverage is also provided by Car & Driver magazine.

Advertising
Sponsor logos and associated advertising materials are displayed on the car, on the driver’s racing suits, and on the casual wear worn before, during and after the event by the RSAE members.

Tax Benefits
The tax-exempt status of Rice University allows sponsors to treat their sponsorship as a charitable donation.

What are the benefits to the students?

A number of tangible and important impacts can be realized through sponsorship:
Education – automotive technologies bring together fields such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics and mathematics.
Experience – providing real world engineering experience for students interested in pursuing careers in the automotive industry and related industries (electronics, materials, fuels).
Sponsor and media relations - providing students with training and experience for dealing with clients and customers as well as the media.

What does sponsorship money pay for?

Sponsorship Levels

For monetary sponsors, we have the following sponsorship levels available:

GOLD Sponsor

  • Minimum $3,500
  • Be listed as the main car sponsor on the web site and on all official documents
  • Prime positioning of company decals on sponsored car
  • Receive a large portrait of the team holding your company banner
  • Receive a plaque and a certificate of appreciation for display
  • Team will wear clothing with your company logo during events

SILVER Sponsor

  • Minimum $2,000
  • Be listed as a silver sponsor on the web site and on all official documents
  • High exposure positioning of company decals on sponsored car
  • Receive a plaque and certificate of appreciation for display
  • Team will wear clothing with your company logo during events

OWL Sponsor

  • No minimum donation
  • $500 minimum for decal on car
  • Be listed as a sponsor on the web site and on all official documents
  • Receive a certificate of appreciation
