About RPMS...
The Rice Pre-Medical Society is an organization run by students of Rice University in Houston, TX. Members consist of students who are interested in careers in the health professions -- predominantly in medicine, with others in pharmacology, dentistry and veterinary medicine. The principle goals of the RPMS are to educate its members regarding the different facets of medical science, to provide opportunities for its members to experience what medicine is all about (through conferences and volunteer opportunities), and to better prepare its members for "Real-World problems" such as applying for financial aid and for entrance examinations such as the MCAT, the VCAT and the DAT. The typical RPMS meeting includes a discussion of RPMS business, a lecture from a guest speaker, and also, free food.
