Call for Donation to China's SARS Healing and Prevention Campaign


Dear fellows,

As we all know there is a war against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) worldwide now, especially in mainland China, where the epidemic is still in its early stages. According to the main media, SARS is infecting nearly 200 people more every day and killing approximately 5% of them in mainland China. We, Rice Chinese Students and Scholars Club (RCSSC), therefore call upon all Chinese Students and Scholars at Rice University and all friends who have passion for China and Chinese people, to donate to support China fighting with SARS.

We have a few volunteers serving as accumulators for donation. They are

Please give cash or check (payable to "Rice Chinese Students & Scholars Club", memoed as "Donation against SARS", endorsed with "Deposit Only") to the accumulators. Accumulators please write down the name and amount of each donator. For those who don't know any of these accumulators, please contact Busheng Li at lbs@rice.edu or x3217.

RCSSC acting committee will collect all the money, send it to Chinese Red Cross Association and get a certificate. The certificate, names of donators and collected amount from whole community will be disclosed after that. And every donator will also get a personal email for conformation.

We are confident that things will get under control with the continuous efforts of Chinese government, people and strength from the whole world.
