Motivations to be the President

  The main reason why I intend to run for a position of RCSSC is two-fold:

                           First,    I think I have the ability;

                          Second: It will reward me. In my opinion, it will improve my  personality,

                                      my self-confidence and so forth.

Main Activity History

Motivations to be the President

I can still remember the time when I first came here, the big, spread and somewhat country-look city.  Malls were far away from my apartment and I knew nothing about the new environment. It was impossible for me to survive without the help from other students. I think I was lucky, because I was at Rice, where we had a warm and well-organized Chinese students association. We new students got lots of help from it. Looking back to all these unforgettable things, I really feel warm in my heart. I will never forget all these helps I got and all these nice persons.  Thank you all!

From that on, I made a decision in my heart that I should try my best to do something for our Chinese community here when I can have chances. Last year, I attended the RCSSC committee.  I believed it was a good way to repay others and I tried my best to do some help when there had needs.

Now, one year passed, during this year, I got not only the experiences on social activity, but also, the most important, I found lots of pleasures on serving others. To help and to get help, that is our real life. I am willing to be a person who is always ready to help others.

            So I'd like to compete for the President position and I think it would be the best way to devote myself more to our association.

            Thank you!

Motivation to be the President

In the past nearly eight months after I arrived at Rice, I have got much help from RCSSC, which made my new life in the States quite smooth. Now it is an opportunity for me to serve this community. And after I am gradually accustomed to study and life here, I have more time and better ability to complete this work. If I could get this opportunity, I hope with my efforts, RCSSC could play an more important role in strengthening our ties, helping new comers, and become a more comfortable home for all of us.
