Express for orchestra (2002) To be premiered by Orchestra X, John Axelrod, conductor, in May 2002.

Four Shadowings - String Quartet No. 2 (2001-02) To be premiered by the Flux Quartet at the Rothko Chapel in Houston in April 2002 and the Baltimore New Arts Festival in June.

Roman à Clef (2000) for cello and piano. Premiered by Norman Fischer, cello, and Jeanne Kierman Fischer, piano at the Longy School of Music, Cambridge, MA, November, 2001.

Fanfare in X (00) for orchestra. Premiered by Orchestra X, John Axelrod, conductor, in May 2000 at Houston Polo Grounds and Stude Concert Hall, Rice University.

X-Caliber (99-00) for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, two percussion, and piano. To be premiered by members of Orchestra X, John Axelrod, conductor, date and place to be announced.

High and Mighty (1999) for flute and trombone. To be premiered by flutist Libby Raichart and trombonist Pat Raichart, date and place to be announced.

Creeley Songs for soprano and piano (1999). Premiered by soprano Karol Bennett and pianist Brian Connelly for Rice faculty compact disc on a concert of the Houston Composers' Alliance at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, March 2000.

Turbulent Tones (1998) for orchestra. Premiered by the Seattle Youth Symphony, Jonathan Shames, conductor, in February 1999.

Breathing Room (Emily Dickinson) (1998) for soprano and string orchestra. Premiered by Karol Bennett and the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra in October 1998 at Jordan Hall, Boston.

Pièce de Résistance [in memoriam MLK] for bass trombone, two tenor trombones, piano and percussion (1998). Premiered by trombonist Jeremy Van Hoy and ensemble at Merkin Hall, New York City,April 1998.

Songs for Soprano and String Quartet (Wallace Stevens, William Carlos Williams) (1997). Premiered by Karol Bennett and members of the Metamorphosen Ensemble at Paine Hall, Harvard University.

Hidden Motives for two pianos (1996). Premiered in March 1998 by pianists John McDonald and David Horne on a concert of the Harvard Group for New Music at Paine Hall, Harvard.

Octopiece for flute, bass clarinet, percussion, piano and string quartet (1996). Premiered by the Ensemble de las Rosas, Emil Awad, conductor, at the International Festival of Music, Morelia, Mexico.
