ASSOCIATION OF RICE ALUMNI

Introducing a great way for keeping in touch with the university. The Association of Rice Alumni Online Directory lets us know where alumni are located and includes information on address, business fields, and more.

The database is linked from the Rice University home page and includes more than 40,000 names of Rice alumni. An alum is defined as anyone who completed at least two semesters at Rice. The directory allows users to search for an alum through almost any criteria: personal information (name, maiden name, employer); academic (degree, major, class year, residential college, school); location (city, zip, state, country); and business location (city, zip, state, country). The directory is password protected and secured through Secured Socket Layers (SSL) for viewing secured information over the web using the SQL Server 2000 database and Active Server Pages (ASP) for web delivery of data. It was produced in collaboration with PCI, which publishes the university's print alumni directory.
