taken the AP or IB tests, you will be able to receive credits for language

To help ensure that you
receive timely results, we strongly urge you to take the test before arriving
at Rice. For these six languages, it is possible for you to take the test
online beginning August 1, 2008. In order to take the online test, you will
need your student ID number, which was provided to you on the bill that was sent
from the Rice cashier’s office in early June.
Tests taken after the above dates will be
corrected on a first come first served basis. ** If you intend this Fall to take a
language of which you have some knowledge, you must take the test by Monday,
August 18, During O-Week you can take the online
tests in the Monday, 8/18 - Friday, 8/22 If you plan to register for a language
course for the spring semester, you can take the online tests until Friday,
September 12th, Online Language Placement Tests available only once per
academic year
Students will receive an
e-mail notifying them that the results of their test are available on the
test webpage . Technical Information
about the test (forthcoming) Arabic For Arabic, a written version of
the test will be available for you to take during O-Week. Students taking the
test in Arabic will meet in the following classroom on Monday,
August 18,
