¿What is Posada?

Posada is HACER's Annual Cultural show in the winter. HACER presents an evening of dance, music, food, fun and culture. La Posada is a Mexican tradition in which a group of people re-enact Mary and Joseph's attempts to find lodging. They go from house to house searching for posada, an inn. Finally they arrive at a posada that allows them to stay. Upon learning of the identity of his guests, the master throws a party. At Rice, members of HACER parade from college to college, until finding refuge at the RMC. There the celebration begins, ranging from Latin dance performances, from Salsa and Merengue to Latin Pop, musical performances, Latin American food, and of course, the breaking of the piñata at the end.
