Robert L. Dipboye, Ph. D.

Dr. Robert L. Dipboye graduated from Purdue University (Ph. D. in I/O Psychology, 1973) and Baylor University (BA 1968). He held faculty positions at the University of Tennesee - Knoxville and a Visiting Position as Associate Professor at the Purdue Krannert School of Management. Currently he is a Professor of Psychology and Management at Rice University where he has been Psychology Department Chair since 1996. He has published three books and over 50 articles and chapters. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the American Psychological Society. He was elected to membership in 1990 to the Society of Organizational Behavior, a prestigious group of leading scholars in the organizational sciences. He has been on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the SIOP Frontier Series and is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology. His research interests include personality (as it relates to work motivation and stress), employment discrimination, training, group behavior in organizations, leadership, and employee selection.
