CSters Outreach
The CSters is planning on starting programs to introduce younger students, particularly girls, to Computer Science.
On October 28th, CSters gave two 45 minute workshop/presentations to girls between 5th and 8th grade at the Sally Ride Science Festival . The class consisted of a brief introduction to a few topics in Computer Science of interest to girls in the particular age group, a brief tutorial of Alice , and a small task for the girls to solve on their own in a pre-created Alice world.

- Our created Alice worlds used in the class. The second "solution" file contains a barebones solution, and the girls the girls were encouraged to consider better approaches.

We're also working on starting a Computer Science club for middle school students. Please contact us if you are at a Houston school near Rice and would be interested in having us help bring Computer Science to your school.
